Nail-biting footage shows plane being pushed left and right in strong crosswinds

Horrific footage of a plane being unable to land due to near 50 mph winds have emerged.

Smartphone footage of the shaky landing at Spain’s Bilbao Airport in the Loui principality shows the pilot struggling to get the plane down on the tarmac.

The nail-biting footage, which has been viewed by thousands on social media, shows the jet being pushed from side to side as its landing gears skim the tarmac. It is then lifted into the air again as the footage ends.

The plane is then made airborne by the blustery conditions and the footage cuts out.

According to reports, the plane successfully landed on its second attempt.

Shaken passengers told local media that strong winds often rock the runway but this occasion was deemed particularly bad.

The airport is renowned for its crosswinds, although a wind speed limit of 50 mph has been set before officials are forced to close the runways.
